Summary
The Staff Accountant is accommodating and analytical while producing highly precise, accurate work that
achieves goals consistently and efficiently. This is a mid-level position that is responsible for accounting
and finance functions while aiding in implementation, maintenance, and adherence to internal controls
and accounting procedures while also ensuring compliance as it relates to GAAP (General Accepted
Accounting Principles). The position assists in payroll administration, correspondence, data entry,
monthly reports, production of financial statements, and recordkeeping. Additionally, the role reviews
data for accuracy and discrepancies while providing consistent, quality customer service.

Responsibilities
• Participate in the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing process
• Responsible for account reconciliations including prepaid expenses, payroll, and other
assignments
• Assist Controller with the day-to-day, monthly and year-end operations of the Accounting
Department
• Perform general accounts analysis and reconciliations, including bank statements, fixed assets,
accrual, and prepaid expenses
• Prepare and reconcile weekly credit card expense reports
• Record and verify all transactions related to the Accounts Payable process
• Prepare and analyze monthly budget/forecast to actual variance reports by department
• Assist in payroll administration, filing, union reporting and certified payroll
• Prepare and remit monthly Workers Comp Insurance and State Gross Receipts Tax
• On quarterly basis, prepare reports for payroll to complete state and federal reports
• Develop and maintain accounting processes and procedures to improve efficiency
• Must have ability to multitask, delegate appropriate tasks, forecast internal and external financial
variables, maintain confidentiality, prioritize, and have superior analytical abilities
• Good oral and written communication abilities are needed to accomplish important tasks
• Must have knowledge in GAAP, finance and budgeting, strategic planning, operational
management, and mitigation strategies
• Physical demands include long hours sitting, using a computer, standing, pulling/pushing,
walking, lifting, and climbing
• Job requires intermediate computer proficiency and advanced critical thinking skills
• Other duties, activities and responsibilities may vary and change as assigned

Education and Experience
• Three plus years of accounting or financing experience
• Educational experience may substitute for years of work experience
