Summary
The Staff Accountant is a detail-oriented and analytical accounting professional responsible for performing a variety of accounting and finance functions with a high degree of accuracy and efficiency. This role supports the implementation, maintenance, and enforcement of internal controls, accounting procedures, and compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Responsibilities include payroll administration, data entry, financial reporting, preparation of financial statements, recordkeeping, and related accounting activities. The position reviews financial data for accuracy, identifies and resolves discrepancies, and provides responsive, high-quality service to internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities
· Assist Accounting Manager/Controller with the day-to-day, monthly and year-end operations of the Accounting Department
· Reconcile balance sheet accounts, investigate variances, and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner
· Prepare and review monthly bank reconciliations, research outstanding items, and resolve discrepancies promptly
· Maintain fixed asset records
· Record additions, disposals, transfers, and depreciation
· Prepare and reconcile weekly credit card expense reports
· Record and verify all transactions related to the Accounts Payable process
· Prepare and analyze monthly budget/forecast to actual variance reports by department
· Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and implement improvements that enhance efficiency, accuracy, and scalability
· Successfully managing shifting priorities and multiple deadlines during month-end close while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail
· Maintain financial records within ERP/accounting systems
· Assist with system implementations, upgrades, and process improvements
· Record and reconcile intercompany transactions while ensuring proper balancing between entities
· Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills to support accounting operations, collaboration, and execution of key job responsibilities
· Apply knowledge of GAAP, finance and budgeting, strategic planning, operational management, and mitigation strategies in the performance of accounting and financial responsibilities

Education and Experience
· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
· 3+ years of accounting or financing experience preferred
· Educational experience may substitute for years of work experience
· Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including the ability to analyze large data sets, develop reporting tools, utilize pivot tables and advanced formulas preferred
